Steve and Jimmy’s journey began at Emerald Dragon Martial Arts, culminating in their well-deserved black belts in July 2019. But their training didn't stop there. Their lineage traces back to none other than Sifu David Greenland, a 32nd Generation Shaolin Temple Warrior Monk. This direct connection means that the principles of movement, balance, strength, and mindfulness taught in a Shaolin temple are subtly, yet powerfully, woven into every aspect of our functional movement classes.


This isn’t just about punching and kicking (though you might feel like it sometimes!); it’s about understanding how your body moves, how to maintain balance, build core strength, and cultivate a deep sense of body awareness that prevents injury and enhances everyday life.

Even before achieving their own black belts, Steve and Jimmy were already pouring their knowledge and passion into guiding other students on their martial arts journeys. This innate ability to teach, nurture, and inspire is at the heart of the Jade Fitness & FUNctional Movement programme. They’ve distilled their vast experience into a class that is accessible, effective, and incredibly rewarding for mature adults.

We specifically designed this programme for the over 40s because we recognise the unique needs and goals of this vibrant age group being in it ourselves. The current age of our class ranges from 42 to those in their late 60s, creating a diverse and incredibly supportive environment.
