Welcome! This class was born from a simple mission: to help people over 40 get moving again and find joy in exercise. Our current community ranges from 50 to 67—a group of supportive, like-minded individuals who understand the importance of FUNctional movement.

​

We all follow the same exercise routine, but the beauty is that everyone moves in their own way and at their own personal speed. This is more than a class; it's a strong community where support is endless and every step counts.

It's about more than staying in shape. It's about personal goals, reclaiming vitality, and enjoying the freedom that confident, functional movement provides.

Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday evenings

Class Time: 7:30 PM Start (Please arrive 15 minutes early at 7:15 PM)

Meet Your Instructors

Steve and Jimmy, certified black belts in Shaolin Kung Fu, having trained under Sifu David Greenland, a 32nd generation Shaolin Temple Warrior Monk himself. They honed their skills at Emerald Dragon Martial Arts and received their black belts in July 2019.

​

But their passion for teaching goes beyond their own black belts. Even before achieving that rank, they were already guiding students on their martial arts journeys.

​

Leveraging their experience, they joined forces to create the Jade Fitness & FUNctional Movement program. This class isn't just about exercise; it's a community specifically designed for people over 50 to get moving again. The current age of the class ranges from 51 to those in their 70's, and everyone moves at their own pace, yet works together. It's a supportive environment where every step counts, and encouragement is endless.

Steve and Jimmy's goals go beyond just staying in shape. They want to help you reclaim your vitality and rediscover the joy of movement.

The class started in January 2023 and the group discussed the goals they had for the year. They wanted:
 

  • Improved fitness

  • Improved range of motion

  • Improved balance & flexibility


We believe they are definitely on the way to reaching their goals.
